Occupational First Aid is a Fetac certificate course delivered over three days, is the statutory requirement of the workplace. Our courses offer a good balance between theory and practical work to ensure that the participant will be fully competent to act as a "First Aider". Not only do we deliver the prescribed curriculum we also include other topics that are relevant to work situations. We can do this because our Instructors all have a Nursing or Healthcare background and as 1st Aiders with a wealth of experience we are particularly well qualified.
As the longest established training centre in 1st Aid in the Midlands and with a reputation for professionalism and success  we constantly monitor, upskill and improve our courses.

Stand alone Fetac Module in caring for the sick and elderly.

This programme runs one day a week over 6 weeks and is designed specially for those who are already caring or anyone hoping to pursue a career in this growing area of employment.

The Course is delivered by Nurses in our teaching facility where we have a fully equipped practical room where you can learn all the skills needed to care efficiently and effectively.

For anyone working in care this course ensures you have an understanding of the skeletal and muscular systems of the body and are aware of how injury can occur. Through practice in a care setting you will learn the correct techniques of lifting and moving and be introduced to various pieces of equipment and devices available to assist in good practice.

This fully accredited course offers eight modules all of which prepare the student to deliver care in a holistic and effective manner.
As nurses we know the importance of having skills underpinned by a sound theoretical foundation. We devised the 1st formal course for Care Assistants in Ireland in 1991 and since then have trained numerous students who are now working in their chosen field and continue to deliver care of the highest standard - at all times.

Eight Modules    Work Experience 

              Job Opportunities  

Care of the Older Person’, Activities of Daily living and Work experience.
Lectures one day per week with work experience at various intervals.
Occupational 1st Aid Module will be available as a stand alone module through the year.
We can organise work experience in Mullingar. Candidates in the Cavan programme will need to arrange  their own placements.
